Using the web to promote the Glastonbury Left Field

Written on April 14, 2007

Things are coming together for this years Left Field at Glastonbury.

Tony Benn is back again, but other than that the linup’s under wraps for the moment. (It’s got a definite early 90’s indy feel in places).

On the assumption that the media will totally ignore us again (we didn’t even make it into the Guardian Guide last year despite being the largest indoor stage) we are going for the full on web 2.0 approach.

So as well as our own site, there’s myspace for linking in with bands fan bases, publishing photos on Flickr during the festival (properly tagged up so people find us when searching for Glastonbury) and Twitter for texting people at the festival about the more interesting on stage events.

We are also going to get as much video and audio online over the weekend (everything gets recorded by Mad Inertia). YouTube is the obvious choice for video, but we are still hunting for a good audio hosting after being a bit nonplussed by Live365 last time round.
