Golden Chippy
Written on October 23, 2005
I was sitting in the Golden Chippy chipshop on the road between Greenwich and Deptford last night (having helped my little brother move house) when the owner started cracking the wine open! After a few more people walk in you realise that this is a standard saturday night at the GC. Some people even nipped home to grab plates so they could be warmed under the hot lamps. Truly a golden chippy.
This was at the end of an allround pretty good day when I finaly managed to lay my hands on an old BT dial phone. Ive seen loads about in trendy second handshops, but rarely for under £30. A guy at Deptford flea market was offering them up for £3, which I guess makes me both a ludite and a cheapskate.
It sounds great though (trrinngg, trrinngg) and replaces the 1 year old cordless BT phone that broke after 9 months.
